Mothers + Little Ones + Gardens
Are you a Mom who has a little ones ages 4 and under, who’s looking to grow a small community of local Moms and playmates for your family?
Are you interested in hands-on outdoor opportunities that you and your little one can learn and enjoy together?
We’d love to have you join us on the farm!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Mom & Me Garden Club meets weekly on Friday mornings from 10:00-11:30 am for Moms and all children ages 4 and under.
We provide weekly STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) aligned garden/nature-themed adventures for you and your babies/kiddos, ages 0-4 years. We will explore seeds, plants, soil, the soil food web (worms, bugs and microbes), raising farm animals (bunnies, chickens, geese, pigs) ethically (for the animal, the land and the planet), and much more. You can look forward to educational material, crafts, a bountiful harvest, or potted plants to bring home every week. Child-initiated sensory play and time to anchor new skills is provided to account for children’s needs and interests.

2024 Fall Season ( Starts: 9/6 – Ends: 11/15 [11 weeks] ) $220.
2024 Full Year ( Starts: 3/15 – 11/15 [36 weeks] ) $700
THE DETAILS:
We will incorporate songs, stories, and basic herbology as we collect herbs and dehydrate them for later use around the home! There will also be plant identification opportunities for Moms (the more familiar we are about the living world around us and our babies, the better we will feel when we find the next thing they put in their mouths).
Space for children and blankets will be provided outdoors of in our large hoophouse during “Homebase” time at the beginning and end of the class. You are encouraged to bring large-wheeled strollers, wagons, or baby carriers depending on their mobility and your preferences. We will likely do quite a bit of walking to get to the gardens and farm animals. There will also be space for children who are mobile to run, dig, and explore nature!
These lessons will be held rain or shine. (Our 80 foot open-air hoop house provides a dry space in the event of heavy rain.) We may also take a walk in the rain, so please bring rain gear, boots, umbrellas etc. on rainy days.
After each lesson we will provide time and space to commune as Moms and talk about our children, learn about each other’s experiences, discuss local opportunities for our children, our hopes, our dreams, our GARDENS (or dreams thereof), gardening questions and more!! The goal of “Mom Talk” is to develop community and a Mom Support Group! (Being a parent can feel challenging, it really does take a village!)
WellMama Partnership:
We are excited to partner with WellMama and will be working together during Mom & Me Garden Club to provide resources and support for parents if needed. Together, we hope to create a supportive and nurturing environment for families to thrive. Studies have shown that being outdoors can restore and strengthen our mental capacities, increasing focus and attention. We can’t wait to see the positive impact this partnership will bring!
PLEASE NOTE:
We usually cannot accommodate extra guests unless the group agrees to have a “family day”. This is not a one day class – you will get to know the same Moms & Kiddos every week all season long! No childcare will be provided during the “Mom Talk”, (please provide healthy snacks for this time). Class will remain flexible to see where our children may lead us with their natural energy, and we may spread out into smaller groups as needed. Join us for our 2024 season!
